Job Summary:The PT Technician supports the physical therapy team by preparing patients for treatment, assisting therapists during therapeutic exercises and procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment. This role plays a key part in creating positive and professional patient experience while supporting day-to-day operations within the therapy department.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises and modalities such as hot/cold packs and electrical stimulation (e-stim)
- Retrieve patients from the waiting area and prepare charts for therapy sessions
- Support the creation and updating of exercise flow sheets in Athena
- Schedule patient appointments as needed and assist with communication and follow-up
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of treatment tables, equipment, and all surfaces after each use
- Track inventory and report low or depleted supplies to management for reorder
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills with a professional and compassionate demeanor
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, therapists, and team members
- Attention to detail in charting, documentation, and maintaining patient records
- Basic knowledge of physical therapy practices and modalities.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (Athena and MedBridge preferred)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Partial Degree towards Physical Therapy preferred
- Previous experience in a clinical or therapy setting preferred
